CERTIFICATION

MASTER GROOMER CERTIFICATION PROCESS
 
To become a master groomer you must show competency in a series of 4 exams.  These exams are held each year at three locations:- Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland.  Each year will be a different category and revolve around in a repetitive cycle.
  • Non-Sporting
  • Gun Dogs
  • Terriers
     
  • Bichon
In order to qualify to sit an exam in any given year you must attend the corresponding workshop – these dates published each year on the website along with the facebook page.
 
Once the above three certificate are held you can complete the final exam - YOUR MASTERS!!!!  Once all four are completed you may claim the prestigious title of a NZ Certified Master Groomer.  The final exam can be completed on any year upon the completion of the first three categories.

National Dog Groomers Association of New Zealand is an organisation representing the standards, goals, aspirations and image of the Professional Pet Groomers.

Our primary intention is aimed at uniting groomers through membership and in this way we hope to form a professional and sincere alliance that will benefit the grooming industry by recognising the true and committed pet professional.

NDGA provides advanced continuing educational programs in the form of workshops and seminars designed to enhance the expertise and business acumen of professional pet groomers and provides you an opportunity to expand your professional contacts, to make friends amongst individuals with common interests, concerns and goals.
